The 5 S’s of Unexpected "You" Time

You may have laughed when you read this title.

Maybe you thought to yourself: “I NEVER get alone time.”

That may be mostly true, but think about even those little moments– like when your kid(s) sleep 10 minutes longer than usual in the morning or take an unusually long nap. When this happens, what do you do?

I know for me, I often find I let this time fizzle in sea of chaos of deciding what to do! So many undone task, so many unmet needs and desires…

Where on earth do I start?

Well, in the spirit of hygge, here are few suggestions of where to start, moms.

The 5 S’s of Alone Time for Moms

1.Sip

You probably haven’t sat down to sip coffee or tea for quite some time. Now’s a good time.

 

2.Sleep

If you have 20 minutes or more, try to sleep! Or at least rest.

3.Shower

Soak up the amazing magic that is a warm shower.

4.Soak.

Try literally soaking in the tub– or if you don’t like baths– just soak in the moment of peace! Enjoy the silence while it lasts!

5. Slow.

I’ve cut my personal care time down to a fraction of what it used to be, out of necessity, However, I find when I’m alone I’m still always hurrying! I eat fast, put on my makeup in 2 minutes flat and brush my teeth like toddler. Whatever you are doing, SLOW DOWN.
