5 Cheap Places to Get You Started
Summer is almost here, which means it’s time for a wardrobe switch-up! If you’re a mom, here are two things I know about you:
1. You’ve started looking for summer clothes/bathing suits for your kids.
2. You haven’t gotten anything new for yourself!
It’s SO easy just to buy things for our kids and wear our tired clothes– for just one more summer…But I want to encourage you to get a few things for yourself!
I’m always amazed what a few new pieces (or a load of inexpensive basics) can do for my wardrobe and my mood when entering this hot and long season.
And guess what? You don’t need a big budget to do it!
Here are 5 Cheap Places To Start!
1.The Basics Collection at H&M (Starting at $5.99)
H&M’s Basics clothing/accessories line is just how it sounds– basic. Shirts, tanks and tees are generally solid colors (but with some added detail to the design). Other items vary in price, but are always affordable! This collection does not offer ‘high fashion’, but sometimes you just need a few fresh basics in your closet!
2.Forever 21 ($1.90 Tanks)
Kick of the summer by buying a handful of these comfy, super cheap tanks! Throw out the old tattered ones and buy these in a variety of colors for light work-outs, undershirts and nightshirts. They tend to run a bit small (if you have a long torso). I use my usual size for an undershirt, but am considering going up a size so I can put them in the dryer.
3.Forever 21-Activewear Line (Starting at $6)
As summer approaches, activewear is a must! Whether you are hanging at home or actually working out, Forever 21 has a great activewear line– for a fraction of the cost of Lululemon or other cute but expensive lines. I’ve mainly bought their exercise shorts there and have been surprised at the quality, considering the price!
I was hesitant to order from this online only store– and to be quite honest– the jury is still out. But they offer consistently cute things here, so I’d recommend giving them a try anyhow.
I pretty much only shop their sale section because their clothes are a bit overpriced for the quality. However, I’ve often been able to find more unique pieces here that I couldn’t find elsewhere, so I keep coming back!
I rarely shop on ebay, but when I do, I ONLY shop brands I know (and generally search ‘New with Tags’). This is perfect for when you want a certain label, but can’t pay the price. Make sure the seller has a high rating (like 90% and above) before buying.
Keep in mind, if you have a tiny budget, you may want to go into the store for H&M and Forever 21 to avoid shipping costs! Just be aware that the Forever 21 Activewear line is only available at certain stores.
